I 100% believe Rory is disadvantaged at Caddy. And maybe 10yrs ago he was so far beyond it wasn’t so relevant, but I’d say now that his talent is no longer so much beyond his peers that he can afford that disadvantage. Undoubtedly his club selection on 15 and 18 put undue stress on his putter. There have been too many times this year when his caddy isn’t getting the job done. WGC vs Cam Young sticks out to me too. If your caddy is just carrying the bag - you’re at a major disadvantage in today’s game.

If Rick was 2 shots clear with 4 to play, I'm certain Rick would've holed those putts on 16 and 18.

Rory looks like he is suffering playing as a PGAT burn out in majors. Hope he moves over to play either the LIV or European Tours. Rory’s character is improving which is a massive thing for him. Playing on LIV enjoying the team support - should revive Rory’s career. Just don’t think Rory will win another major - if he doesn’t leave the PGAT to revive his career in Europe or with LIV. 😀

If Rory had a Woods/Faldo mentality he’d have won majors into double figures. Unbelievable golfing talent but his “gameplay” is average at best, he makes far too many school boy errors time and time again and he appears to struggle under pressure.

I think the only better outcome for the viewer from the US Open was if Rory made the putt on 18, Bryson made the up-and-down to tie, and we got a playoff to decide the winner. That would’ve been absolutely epic.

No it wasn’t the best ever it was entertaining but I feel like the course lent itself to being able to get out of jail easier than some other courses would have. Congrats to Bryson but ultimately Rory gave that away. All in all fun tournament but not an all time great.

Nobody is talking about Scheffler’s poor performance with one exception. Everyone makes mistakes and to call Rory out for a couple of bad putts is a bit harsh. There were plenty of whiffy putts over those four days. I think it was poor form just to disappear without saying well done to Bryson though, I know it must sting but hey.

Pease show some class. Rory is a great golfer who had a few bad last holes, we all have been there. He will win another major and your comments are saved. The best player is normally somewhere in row k in the crowd. He has behaved admirably throughout the whole (hole) LIV thing. Nil bastardo carborundum.

Rory losing is not heart breaking 1 little bit. There is not 1 golfer I like less then Rory.

I’ve said for the last 2 years that Rory will not win another major . It’s all mental to him. Sunday was just more scar tissue for him.

Bold take here.... Rory will win at least 2 more majors, if not 3, and once he starts the streak again it'll happen within a 2 year calendar period. Yeah it's disappointing to be that close, but lets look at it this way, is he randomly close and sometimes far back, or has he been more recently hanging around that 'so close' spot? Since 2022 he's been getting more consistently close, and everybody knows he's still playing amazing golf, the big issue has been other and more golfers getting hot and Rory not really jumping out or having a bumper round to get several strokes up on the pack, which then makes it easier for us to look at those high pressure moments with missed putts... if he gets a jump early and cruises a little, with a few more strokes are those same high pressure situations still gonna exist the same way? I think once he pops the cherry on number 5 that will have a tremendous effect on his headspace and unlock better play for a few years.
